The changing phases of the moon are believed to reflect the balance of yin and yang energies in the universe. The new moon is associated with yang energy, which is proactive and good for setting intentions and starting new projects. After the full moon, the energy shifts into a more yin-based state, which is a time for rest, reflection, and letting go of things that are no longer serving us.
